General Terms & Conditions – Privacy Policy

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Purpose of the Service

Vocalipsy is an AI-powered acoustic analysis software designed for use by healthcare professionals, especially primary care physicians. It serves as a clinical decision support tool to help assist in identifying vocal biomarkers associated with mental health conditions, particularly depression.

The software is intended strictly for use in clinical settings and must not be used in workplace, educational, or non-medical environments.

  1. Clinical Use and Limitations

Vocalipsy provides an indication based on paraverbal vocal features that may correlate with depressive states. These results must always be interpreted by a licensed medical professional and are intended as a complementary signal–not a definitive diagnosis. This software does not provide medical diagnoses and is not a substitute for the expertise of a psychologist or psychiatrist.

Vocalipsy is designed to assist general practitioners in the early detection of depressive symptoms, helping them guide patients toward appropriate mental health care quickly and effectively

  1. Voice Data and Privacy

Vocalipsy does not process or interpret the content of spoken words.

It analyzes only non-verbal acoustic patterns. All processing occurs locally on the user’s device. No recordings are stored or transmitted.

This approach ensures strict medical confidentiality and full compliance with data protection standards.

  1. Regulatory Compliance

Vocalipsy complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and follows principles outlined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding the ethical use of AI in healthcare. While there is currently no federal regulation mandating AI disclosure, Vocalipsy promotes transparency, medical confidentiality, and informed patient consent in accordance with professional standards and emerging state-level data privacy laws.

Also, Vocalipsy complies with:

  • The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and
  • The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act – 2024/1689), which prohibits the use of emotion recognition AI in non-medical settings.

The software is classified as a low-risk clinical support tool and is intended for use under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.

5. Subscription Terms

Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis, with no long-term commitment required. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Please note that no refunds are provided for unused subscription periods.

  1. Usage Restrictions

Users must not:

  1. Local Voice Data Processing

Vocalipsy performs all audio analysis locally on your personal device.

No voice recordings are stored or transmitted to external servers.

Only spectrograms (visual representations of acoustic patterns) are generated. This software does not interpret speech or access its content.

This approach ensures strict data privacy and medical confidentiality.

  1. Reliability and Purpose of Analysis

Vocalipsy is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace the role of a mental health specialist.

Its results are intended as non-definitive indicators that must be interpreted by a licensed healthcare professional.
